Social Tool Gives Lift to 3DS
The feature, called StreetPass, allows 3DS owners to automatically exchange profile information or game data. If game machines come within about 50 feet of each other, the swap of information can take place even if the devices are closed and buried deep inside a bag. The exchange of data happens between machines and doesn’t require an Internet connection or a cellular service.

THE LOONEY TUNES 3D RETURN TO THE SILVER SCREEN
Fudd, Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner will all return to theaters in three original Looney Tunes 3D theatrical cartoon shorts produced by Warner Bros. Animation and directed by Matthew O’Callaghan (Coyote Falls). Two of the new shorts — Daffy’s Rhapsody and I Tawt I Taw a Puddy Tat — will feature the voice of the late, great Mel Blanc. The legendary actor/comedian known as The Man of a Thousand Voices brought to life some of the most revered characters in animation history during a celebrated career spanning six decades. Blanc will appear in the shorts — which are created using state-of-the-art CG animation and rendered in stereoscopic 3D — via original songs he recorded in character in the 1950s.

3D is OK for most kids, says the American Optometric Association
In an effort to address what it believes is a fair amount of misinformation about the effects of 3D viewing on younger children, the American Optometric Association (AOA) has posted a 3D eye health FAQ on its website that tackles many commonly asked questions about the issue.
This isn’t the AOA’s first step into the world of 3D and discussions about the effect it can have on viewers. Earlier this year I attended an AOA-sponsored symposium—held in partnership with the 3D@Home Consortium—during which it was suggested that people who don’t experience 3D or who have problems with it should get a comprehensive eye exam, as often these issues can be caused by an undiagnosed eye condition.
At that event, the AOA panelists also said that while there has been some concern that prolonged or frequent viewing of 3D content could cause eye problems, there is currently no evidence that supports that notion.
