3D Lessons Deliver Higher Levels of Understanding and Increased Focus to Students Across Europe
Highlights from the survey include:
On average, 86% of pupils improved from the pre-test to the post-test in the 3D classes, compared to 52% who improved in the 2D classes.
Individuals improved test scores by an average of 17% in the 3D classes, compared to an 8% improvement in the 2D classes between pre-test and post-test.
92% of students on average were attentive during 3D lessons, while only 46% were actively paying attention during non-3D lessons.

Case Study: Shooting in 3D – a Documentary on Street Dance
The film is self-financed by Decode Productions. The project follows Sisco Gomez, renowned choreographer to Madonna, Kylie Minogue and others, and head judge of the BBC’s ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, as he embarks on a personal quest to find a group of special dancers. Developing a series of TV programmes about street dance, he needs the best dancers around to perform alongside him. It is a career-changing opportunity for all of them. The project has been shot in many iconic London and Blackpool locations.

Partnership ‘will develop the world’s first 3D Gesture Multi-touch Display’
Ident Technology and AU Optronics have announced a strategic partnership to jointly develop a new generation of Multi-touch and 3D Displays with integrated long range free-space 3D gesture control capabilities. The companies say the fast growing tablet PC market will be targeted first.

Screen Industries Research and Training Centre (SIRT) – Toronto, Ontario, Canada
The center fosters collaborative research (workflow, software, motion capture, etc.), training and relationship-building between academic and industry here and abroad working in digital image capture and creation -- with S3D a key area. A new Pinewood-housed theatrical 3D screening facility will serve the center's research and be made be available to Toronto productions needing footage evaluation starting this fall.
