The LEGO Greenhouse is part of the 2011 London Design Festival, an annual event that celebrates and promotes London’s creative industries. This is said to be the first functional greenhouse made entire of LEGO. LEGO UK commissioned designer Sebastian Bergne to build the greenhouse out of 100,000 LEGO bricks, using differently colored bricks depending on their placement. Every piece of the structure, including the roof and “dirt”, are built out of either translucent or brown LEGO pieces. The transparent pieces allow it to work like a conventional greenhouse.
