3D: Sundance 2012’s missing dimension

Sundance 2012 does not have a 3D movie this year, but that's not meant as a snub.

Really.

Organizers are quick to point out that 3D films have been part of past festivals, including U2 3D, the first live action 3D movie from the Irish-rockers.

In fact, festival director John Cooper was at a momentary loss when asked why there wasn't any 3D films.

"We don't have any this year, do we?" he asked aloud.

Cooper says he was desperate to bring Wim Wenders 3D dance film Pina in the festival. But it was released in theaters before the festival started. ...
