ETC Executive Coffee with… Verizon – a discussion among USC students and Verizon’s Albert Lao
“How will advances in network technology over the next 36 months impact the way we watch movies, play videogames, and create and produce immersive and engaging experiences?” was the main discussion topic of the ETC Executive Coffee with… Verizon zoom meeting held Sept. 23rd from 12:15-1:15. Albert Lao, Segment Leader, Americas, Global Channels & SI, Solutions Architecture, Verizon Enterprise Solutions spoke with a group of USC students. The students selected, based on their statements of interest, from the cinema, business, and engineering schools. They ranged from freshman through graduate students. After a short video describing Verizon’s plans for 5G and edge computing, Mr. Lao and the ETC’s Phil Lelyveld lead the group in a discussion of the future of streaming media, the post-pandemic theatrical experience, immersive media, and other topics related to entertainment and advances in network technology.
