After collaborating with VR pioneer Morris May of Specular Theory on ground-breaking films on date rape and police brutality, the American filmmaker is planning an 8-part ensemble comedy series entitled LGBTQIA. Casting is underway and she is seeking a partner for what she hopes will be an ongoing series set in a high school which doubles as a community center at night. The narrative will follow people who turn up to attend LGBTQIA group meetings (meaning for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and asexual communities) which descend into mayhem. She intends to shoot the first two episodes, each of 8-10 minutes, in late August in time to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival’s New Frontier program.
