Deloitte buys Australian group virtual reality firm Kid Neon

1474288042202Deloitte has purchased virtual reality firm Kid Neon, its seventh technology-related start-up acquisition in the past two years, as the professional services firm continues to beef up its visualisation services.

Kid Neon uses custom technology to allow its clients, which are mainly retailers and include New Balance, Jurlique and property group GPT, to explore conceptual designs as a group in virtual reality.

The move comes as the large consulting firms engage in a gadgets arms race, including augmented and virtual reality tools, to establish "creation spaces" where clients can experience mock-ups of products and services that don't yet exist.

The four-man Kid Neon team will join Deloitte's Melbourne office as part of the Spatial and Brand Experience team.
