Over the years, the ticket packages for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival have become a fun unboxing surprise, with snapshots filling Instagram long before fans flood their social media streams with selfies from the festival itself.
In 2016, the festival upped the ante by including a virtual reality headset in the box. The cardboard headsets worked with the Coachella VR mobile app from virtual reality event team Vantage.tv.
This year, Coachella is going bigger, not only offering virtual reality content, but also augmented reality features inside the Coachella VR app, according to a press release from Goldenvoice.
Vantage.tv and software platform CameraIQ have teamed up for the app.
