A research assistant/associate position is available from May 2017 to work on perceptual coding for virtual reality. The goal of the project is to improve the coding of the video signal sent to a VR headsets by exploiting perceptual limitations. The project is sponsored by Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd.

The successful candidate will be responsible for modelling colour reproduction in a VR headset, modelling certain aspects of the visual system, the design and execution of visual experiments.
